Virtual Paper Weaving Workshop Sat 7th December 2024 4pm - 6pm UK Time (GMT)
Come and learn how to make fabulous, paper woven artworks with me, via Zoom!
Suitable for ALL levels. Feel free to bring your kids!
This workshop is great for hand made cards, artworks and gifts but is also a great place to start if you think you might be interested in learning how to weave on a loom, or taking one of the off-loom weaving workshops, as it will help you to understand the basics of woven structure.
Learning these simple techniques is just the beginning of the fun you will have with this!
You will need:
A variety of colourful card and paper - metallics can be fun too!
Double sided tape
Cellotape
Ruler
Cutting board
Craft Knife (and a steady hand)
Pencil
Scissors
Glass of wine (optional??)
We’ll start with a simple ‘twill’ and then we will use that structure to create all sorts of patterns including a zig zag, a dogtooth, a check, a pattern that I like to call ‘steps’, and another I like to call ‘ arrows’.
Upon booking this workshop, you will receive an email containing a Zoom link, and then one week before the class you will receive some simple simulations to print out. We will use these as a guide during the class.
A video recording of the workshop will be sent out afterwards, for you to look back on at your own pace, re-winding, pausing and fast-forwarding as many times as you like.
Also included are a set of photographic instruction manuals, providing you with a clear step-by-step guide through each design.
If you book the workshop but can’t make it on the day, don’t worry! You are still entitled to all of the learning content including the recording & the manuals, and you will be very welcome to join the next available workshop date.
If you attend the workshop but are unable to gather all the materials in time, again don’t worry - you can always watch the class and then try some of the designs at a later date, making use of the recording.
The workshop will be recorded, so you can rewatch to your hearts content afterwards, at your own pace.
Please note:
Materials Kits are not included for this workshop, please see the list above for all the bits you need to gather.
