Virtual Yarn Wrapping Workshop Sat 24th May 2025 4pm - 7pm UK Time (BST)

£55.00

Learn how to make fabulous textile art using yarn wrapping techniques!

This online workshop is perfect for both beginners and seasoned crafters; for newbies it is a great place to start if you think you might be interested in learning weaving or other fibre crafts, but also just a really fun and simple way to make beautiful, impactful artworks.

These look really lovely framed, or even just standing up against a wall, or on a shelf! They make great gifts and are so easy to make.

Once you’ve got the technique, the possibilities are endless! Just think of all the colour combinations, and all the yarn textures you could mix together!

You will need:

- Some Bases. I use A6 plywood boards (postcard sized and about 3mm thickness), but you can use anything - it doesn't have to be wood and it doesn't have to be rectangular, square also works well. Any material that has 4 straight(ish) edges, that can support threads being wrapped both ways.

- A needle. I find that flat bodkin needles work well for this craft but a regular sharp one is also fine.

- YARN! You can use anything - I will be demonstrating with regular cotton embroidery floss.

- Double sided sticky tape (widely available online)

- Scissors that you don't mind cutting double sided tape with (not your best fabric scissors!)

- A ruler

- A pen or pencil

Upon booking you will be sent an email with Zoom information, and a reminder of materials to gather, ready for the day.

The workshops always recorded, so that you can rewatch afterwards at your own pace, as many times as you like. This is especially useful if you can’t make it on the day.
